ABOUT LOLA

A graduate of Spelman College and Bank Street Graduate School of Education, Lola touts a career span of 20+ years that includes leading marketing and advertising at the Library of Congress for over a dozen years, and advanced web development for several noteworthy organizations, namely The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission and Montgomery County Government. 

In 2018, Lola turned her creative passion into a business, thus founding Oasis Soul Scents Co., a candle and scented goods company whose products are inspired by soulful music and promote self-care. Its offerings include an array of luxurious candles, body scrubs, body oils, sprays, shower steamers, and more designed to treat the senses.

Lola, on behalf of Oasis Soul Scents Co., has won several noteworthy awards  including the 2023 Blavity.org Fellowship, the 2022 Retail Ready grant from the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Metropolitan Washington, DC Chapter, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) 2020 Minority-Owned Women’s Business “Brave Is” Exhibitor Scholarship, and the 2019 Buy from a Black Woman E-Commerce Grant. These recognitions serve as an acknowledgement of not only Lola’s creativity but also her business acumen. 

She consults with businesses and organizations through her consultancy - PYNE Creative - to help expand their impact, bring their brands to life, and connect with customers through meaningful marketing, creative design, and engaging experiences.
